Wallington 2011

Volunteers wanted for 2011

Wallington Beer Festival is staffed entirely by volunteers

But why volunteer?

Most of our volunteers return year after year because it's such a friendly community and it's a lot of fun! But the Beer Festival still needs more help, so more volunteers are needed.

Who can volunteer?

Usually, volunteers must be members of CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale. If you are not a member but wish to volunteer, please consider joining.

What sort of jobs are there?

There are a several different jobs at the festival:

Serving at the bars - beer, cider, foreign beer
Entrance - selling entry tickets, glasses counter, programmes.
Other stalls - membership stand, products counter.
Behind the scenes - help with barrels (some heavy lifting), and some lighter duties. Set-up and take-down - including building the bar and stillage, loading barrels, but also some lighter duties such as putting up posters.
...and more besides...

What do you get in return?

Wallington Beer Festival offers generous benefits to volunteers:

Beer Tokens and Food Tokens to spend at the festival.
A friendly community - a very good way to make new friends and meet old friends!
Staff thank you party generally held one Saturday in November, with a free bar and nibbles!
